Athabasca RCMP is advising that the shelter in place has now been lifted. One suspect is in custody.

Athabasca RCMP advises residents of Calling Lake to shelter in place

Earlier today, Athabasca RCMP received reports of individuals on ATVs with firearms. RCMP responded and located the suspects, who showed their firearms to RCMP officers before fleeing the scene. 

Athabasca RCMP advises the resident of Calling Lake to shelter in place while RCMP responds and attempts to locate and arrest the suspects. Residents are advised to remain in their homes and not to open their doors to strangers. Should anyone notice any suspicious activity, they are asked to please call police and not to confront or approach the suspects.

The public is also asked to please refrain from posting anything regarding police response to social media until the incident is resolved. An update will be sent once more information is available or if the situation changes.
