Alberta RCMP MCU investigates suspicious death - Update

On Sept. 17, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., Fox Lake RCMP members responded to reports of individuals causing a disturbance, locating an injured male, identified as 52-year-old Fort Vermilion, Alta., resident Delbert Noskiye, who was later pronounced deceased. It was later discovered that the incident that resulted in this death also involved another victim who has since recovered from their injuries.

As a result of the investigation, three individuals, A 36-year-old individual, a resident of Garden River, Alta., and a 32-year-old individual, a resident of fox Lake and a 17-year-old individual were arrested and charged with second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.

All three were brought before a justice of the peace and have been remanded into custody. The youth is to appear before the courts on Oct. 6, 2025, while the adults will appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Vermilion on Oct. 14, 2025.

Fox Lake, Alta. – On Sept. 17, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., Fox Lake RCMP members responded to reports of individuals causing a disturbance. Police attended the area and located an injured male. Police transported the male to the hospital but despite life preserving efforts the male was pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding the injuries and subsequent death of the victim have been deemed suspicious and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has taken carriage of the investigation.
