Sylvan Lake RCMP arrest intoxicate Individual in stolen vehicle

Sylvan Lake Alta. – On Nov. 5, 2025, at 7:15 a.m. Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the driving lane on 51 avenue and 51 street in Eckville, Alta. . Upon arrival, police observed that the pickup was stolen, running, with a driver sleeping behind the wheel. When police arrested the driver and he stepped out it was observed that the vehicle was still in drive and the vehicle slowly rolled forward striking a patrol car. A search of the vehicle revealed quantities of Methamphetamine. The driver who was identified as a 37-year-old individual who had outstanding warrants for their arrest and was breaching several release conditions.

Individual has been charged with;

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
• Operation while prohibited;
• Operation while impaired by drug;
• Operation while impaired by drug over;
• Fail to comply with release order (x 5).

Individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court set for Nov. 10, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer, Alta..
