Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate robbery, suspects arrested

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Nov. 16, 2025 at approximately 8:20 am., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at the Real Canadian Superstore, located at 9 Haineault Street in downtown Fort McMurray. Upon arrival, RCMP learned that two individual left without paying for several items. When confronted by staff, after they departed the store, one individual produced an edged weapon, threatening to stab the employee. The suspects then departed the area on foot. The employee was not physically injured in the robbery.
The suspect was known to the employee and a description of both the suspects were provided to police. Shortly thereafter, Wood Buffalo RCMP members located them at a nearby residence. Both were arrested without incident and all the stolen items were recovered.
A 29-year-old, resident of Fort McMurray, is facing charges:
- Robbery
They were held for a Judicial Interim Hearing and was remanded into custody. They are set to appear next in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on Nov. 24, 2025.
A 30-year-old, resident of Fort McKay, is facing charges:
- Robbery;
- Carry a concealed weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Individual was held for a Judicial Interim Hearing and was remanded into custody. They are set to appear next in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on Nov. 24, 2025.
