Chief Superintendent Adrian Marsden

Grand Prairie, Alta. – The Alberta RCMP is pleased to announce Chief Superintendent Adrian Marsden will assume the role of Western Alberta District Officer effective Dec. 1, 2025.

C/Supt. Marsden brings more than three decades of policing experience to the position. Since joining the RCMP in 1993, he has served in numerous detachments and specialized units across Alberta and British Columbia. His career includes leadership roles in serious crime investigations, anti-corruption, federal policing, and national security enforcement.

In 2019, C/Supt. Marsden established the Office of Investigative Standards & Practices (OISP) for K Division, a unit dedicated to improving investigative practices and legal application support. Most recently, he served as Officer in Charge of Langley Detachment and oversaw the Northwest Region Integrated National Security Enforcement Team.

“I look forward to learning more about the communities we serve and supporting RCMP employees in achieving our shared objectives,” said C/Supt. Marsden. “Building strong relationships and delivering effective and consultative policing remain my top priorities.”

C/Supt. Marsden grew up in Victoria, B.C., enjoys snowboarding, and is an avid Edmonton Oilers fan.

The Alberta RCMP’s Western Alberta District covers Drayton Valley to Jasper up to High Level, and Fort Vermillion to the border with the Northwest Territories.
