Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate fatal collision near Millet

Millet, Alta. – On Dec. 4, 2025, at 7:54 a.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP received a report of a serious head on motor vehicle collision involving a school bus on Highway 814 at Township Road 480 near Millet. Upon arrival, the sole occupant of one of the vehicles, an SUV, was deceased. The deceased has been identified as a 70-year-old Sherwood Park resident. The other vehicle, a school bus, had 5 occupants including 4 students. None of these occupants were injured during the collision.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours investigating. Police are now clear and normal traffic flow has resumed.

Although the investigation into the cause is ongoing, police believe poor road conditions may have been a contributing factor.

Alberta RCMP sends their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
