Fort Saskatchewan RCMP arrest 2 individuals in stolen vehicle during pro-active patrols

Fort Saskatchewan, Alta – On Dec 6, 2025, at approximately 2:57 A.M., Fort Saskatchewan RCMP were conducting pro-active patrols and located two occupied stolen vehicles parked behind a hotel in the area of 88 avenue and 101 street in Forst Saskatchewan. As RCMP approached the vehicles one of the stolen vehicles a blue Dodge Ram AB fled at a high rate of police. No pursuit was initiated due to public safety. Fort Saskatchewan RCMP members successfully deployed tire deflation devices on the other stolen vehicle a white Chevrolet Silverado prior to it taking off at a high rate of speed. With assistance from Police dog services (PDS) and Edmonton Police Service the stolen white Chevrolet Silverado was followed into Edmonton where the vehicle stopped and both the driver and passenger fled. The driver was apprehended by a police service dog after a brief chase. The passenger was arrested without further incident.
As a result of the investigation RCMP have charged a 29-year-old, resident of Bonnyville with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime;
- Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited;
- Possession of break-in instruments;
- Flight from police;
- Fail to Comply with Probation.
And charged a 31-year-old, resident of Cold Lake with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime;
- Possession of Break-in Instruments.
Both were brought before a Justice of the Peace. The second individual was released from custody, their next court appearance at the Alberta Court of Justice Fort Saskatchewan is on Jan. 8, 2026. The first individual was remanded into custody, their next court date is Dec. 11, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice Fort Saskatchewan.
As this matter is now before the court, no further updates are anticipated.
