Fort Saskatchewan RCMP arrest individual for break and enter

Fort Sask, Alta. – On December 18, 2025, at 1:23 P.M. Fort Saskatchewan RCMP respond to a report of a fully clothed suspect sitting in a home owners’ outdoor hot tub on a rural property northeast of Bruderheim, Alta. While RCMP were responding they were updated that the suspect had forced entry into the complaint’s residence by smashing their way through a glass door.

When police arrived, the suspect was located hiding inside the complaint’s residence. RCMP arrested the suspect and taken into custody without incident. RCMP were able to determine that the suspect was associated to Volkswagen located down the road which was confirmed stolen. RCMP were also able to link the suspect to a mischief that occurred in the early morning in Fort Saskatchewan where the suspect smashed the window of an occupied vehicle parked at a hotel on Town Crest Road.

A 45-year-old, a resident of Fort Saskatchewan, was charged with the following offences:

  • Break and enter,
  • Fail to comply with release order x2,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000,
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose x 2,
  • Mischief under $5000,
  • Operation while prohibited.

The individual was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Their next court appearance is through the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan  on Jan. 8, 2026.

As this matter is now before the court, no further updates are anticipated.
