High River RCMP charge individual after flight from traffic stop

High River, Alta. – On Jan. 6 at 4 p.m., High River Community Peace Officers attempted to stop a vehicle, which fled from the stop. Investigation led officers to this suspect vehicle, and officers subsequently located suspected stolen property in the vehicle.

On Jan. 7, 2026, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in High River, which resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of industrial electrical equipment. 


As a result, a 49-year-old, resident of High River, has been charged with the following (as well as Provincial statutes):

  • Operation while Prohibited
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00
  • Fail to comply with release order condition x 3
  • Flight from Peace Officer

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, they were remanded into custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Jan. 16, 2026.
