Okotoks, Alta. – On Aug. 2025, at 1:35 p.m., Okotoks RCMP responded to a report of mischief to a vehicle in which the victims’ tires were slashed in Crystal Shores. Throughout the months that followed, the same family (three victims) were victimized multiple times with four different vehicles having their tires slashed.

The alleged suspect continued to intimidate, taunt, and harass the family through various social media outlets with the use of false accounts. The suspect also threatened death on several occasions. These threats had been occurring since Feb. 16, 2025. Through much investigation, which included court orders to identify the owner of the social media accounts, a suspect, who resided in Calgary, was identified.

In December of 2025, Calgary Police Service (CPS) initiated an investigation in which a victim had received death threats through the same social media accounts. The victim in the CPS investigation was also subject to online harassment. Okotoks RCMP and CPS worked collaboratively, along with partner agencies Calgary Transit and Probation, to further their investigations.

On Jan. 14, 2026, Okotoks RCMP and Calgary Police Service completed their joint operation and arrested a 27-year-old, resident of Calgary. They have been charged with the following:

  • Threats to cause injury or death (x4)
  • Threats to cause harm to an animal
  • Criminal Harassment (x4)
  • Mischief Over $5000
  • Use a disguise with intent
  • Besetting on a dwelling home

The individual was held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing. It has been held over to be brought forward globally on Jan. 20, 2026, at Alberta Court of Justice in Calgary.
