Claresholm RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision - Update

Stavely, Alta. - Claresholm RCMP is advising that the accident scene is now clear and normal traffic has resumed.
At 11 a.m., Claresholm RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a semi truck pulling gravel and a small passenger vehicle. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 2 and 55 Avenue, at the north entrance to Stavely. The semi was northbound on Highway 2, and the passenger vehicle was driving eastbound at that intersection.
RCMP can confirm that the driver of the semi, a 40-year-old male resident of Stavely, received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Unfortunately, all three occupants of the passenger vehicle, two 18-year-old residents of Kamloops, B.C., and a 17-year-old Alabama, U.S.A resident, were declared deceased at the scene.
The investigation continues. RCMP sends deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
