Leduc RCMP lay charges in Nisku Break and Enter

Leduc, Alta.- On Jan. 7, 2026, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Leduc RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a business in Nisku near 5th street and 22 avenue. It was reported that a witness observed an individual going under a fence and carrying items to a vehicle. Officers attended the location and located the suspect vehicle, which fled from the scene. With the assistance of RCMP air service (MPP), Leduc crime reduction unit, CAD crime reduction unit, and Edmonton Police Service, the suspects were arrested near by in Edmonton.
As a result, a 31-year-old and a 32-year-old, residents of Edmonton, are charged with the following:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Break and enter
- Possess break-in instruments
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
- Mischief under $5000
The 32-year-old has additionally been charged with:
- Fail to comply with release order condition
- Numerous infractions under the Traffic Safety Act
Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, the 31-year-old was released on a release order. Their next appearance is Feb.5 2026 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc.
A Judicial Interim Release hearing was also held for the 32-year-old. They were remanded into custody, and his next appearance is Feb.19, 2026 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc.
