Grimshaw, Alta. – On Feb. 3, 2026, around 4:47 a.m., Peace River RCMP responded to a break and enter that took place at a Grimshaw business. Upon arrival, police noted damage to the building and the owner reported multiple items stolen. RCMP officers noted shoe and toboggan impressions in the snow near the scene, leading to a residence known to police. Peace River RCMP General Investigation Section obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence on Feb. 4, 2026, with assistance from Peace River RCMP General Duty and Police Dog Services. As a result of the search, multiple stolen items were recovered, mostly tools and vehicle parts, for an approximate value of $10000.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old and a 20-year-old both residents of Grimshaw, were charged with 3 counts of possession of property obtained by crime as well as one count of break and enter. Both were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody though the 20-year-old has since been released. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on February 23rd, 2026.
