Cold Lake RCMP seek assistance in locating man wanted for crimes against person

Cold Lake, Alta. – In the early morning hours on Feb. 23. 10, 2026, Cold Lake RCMP received a report of crimes against a person. Despite ongoing efforts, police have been unable to locate Joey Botelho. Alberta RCMP have obtained a warrant for Joey Botelho’s arrest and believe he is actively evading police. Joey may be armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach, call 911.   

As a result of the investigation, Joey Jack Joseph Botelho (34), a resident of Fort McMurray, is facing the following charges:  

• Criminal harassment; 
• Harassing communication; and  
• Assault. 

Joey Jack Joseph Botelho, 34-year-old, resident of Fort McMurray, Alta., is described as:  

• Approximately 5’8” in height; 
• 265 pounds; 
• Brown hair; 
• Blue eyes; 
• Full beard, brown in colour;  
• Wears eyeglasses, and  
• has multiple tattoos, including: 
• 1967 Shelby Mustang on left arm;  
• banner/scroll Joel 03.12.10 on left forearm; and  
• an arm band, 7 skulls and bones on upper right arm. 

Joey Botelho may be driving a 2007 Red Dodge Ram 1500 with Alberta Licence Plate: 

• CXH1054 (Alta) 

In Alberta, Joey is known to frequent, Cold Lake, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, and Fort McMurray. Joey is also known to frequent places in Saskatchewan, including but not limited to Kindersley, Kerrobert, Rouleau, Kipling, Melville, and Esterhazy.
