Burnaby RCMP’s Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) has seized over 97 Kilograms (215 pounds) of illicit drugs and $70,000 in cash after a 6-month long drug trafficking investigation.
On December 17, 2025, BGET executed a search warrant on a suspect’s residence in New Westminster. A 29-year-old man was taken into custody and now faces numerous potential charges.
Officers located and seized the following:
- 15 kg of Cocaine
- 41 kg of Methamphetamine
- 30 grams of Fentanyl
- 41 kg of Cannabis Concentrate “Shatter” (some bulk, some pre-packaged)
- Over $70,000 in Canadian currency
- Illicit drug cooking materials and money counters
The seizure has a street level value of nearly $4 million.
“The production and trafficking of drugs is not a victimless crime. We see its devastating effects daily. The number of potential lives saved as a result of this seizure is immeasurable and the amount of illicit drugs taken off the street is astounding.” said Inspector Matt Toews, Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Services Officer. “I am very proud of our Gang Enforcement Team but also know there is still a lot of work ahead before this investigation can be moved to the charge approval stage.”
The investigation is ongoing.
