Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit arrests suspect after alleged robbery series

Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit arrested a 35-year-old Vancouver man after three robberies in Burnaby between October 27, 2025, and November 12, 2025.

On October 27, 2025, in the late evening hours, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a robbery with a weapon at a business on Lougheed Hwy, near Willingdon Avenue. The suspect had fled the area prior to police arrival.

Two additional robberies with weapons occurred at a business in South Burnaby in mid November with similar suspect descriptors.

Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit assumed conduct of these investigations and identified a suspect.

On December 10, 2025, with the assistance of VPD’s Emergency Response Team, Strike Force Unit executed a search warrant at an East Vancouver residence. The resident, a 35-year-old man, was arrested. The suspect was later released with conditions.

“Strike Force Unit promptly identified a suspect, which is vital to any investigation,” said Sgt. Aly Mohan with Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit. “This was made possible, in part, by the thorough initial investigation by our frontline officers.”

The investigations are ongoing.
