Burnaby RCMP - Front counter services

The Burnaby RCMP front counter is staffed by the City of Burnaby municipal employees. While our staff members speak many languages, please be aware that services in languages other than English are not always available immediately. Listed service fees are subject to change.

Services and information

Canadian Police Certificates

Canadian Police Certificates and Certified Criminal Record Checks may be required for visa applications, foreign work permits, and foreign travel.

Driving Suspensions

Drivers who have been issued a 24-hour or 12-hour driving prohibition by a member of the Burnaby RCMP can attend the front counter to retrieve their driver’s license once the prohibition time has ended.

Special Event Permits

Special Event Permits (SEP) are issued by the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB).

Chauffeur Permits

Chauffer permits are issued by the Passenger Transportation Board.

Fingerprinting Services

Fingerprints may be required for employment, name changes, criminal record checks, record suspensions (also known as pardons), Provincial security licences, United States Entry waiver (I-192), or immigration purposes.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

You can report a collision (if you exchanged information) and hit and runs without a suspect directly to the Insurance Corporation of BC at 604-520-8222 or by filling out an online report.

Police Information Checks

Police Information Checks (PICs), previously known as Criminal Record Checks, maybe required for employment, volunteer, or education reasons.

Firearm Enquiries

All enquires and requests relating to firearm licenses or permits are handled through the Canadian Firearms Program.

Record Suspensions (Pardons)

The purpose of a Record Suspension, previously called a Pardon, is to have your Canadian criminal record sealed.
