Police seeking witness in recent stabbing

On March 23rd, 2026, at approximately 7:50 pm, officers from the Campbell River RCMP responded to an altercation in the area of Cedar Street and 16th Avenue. The subsequent investigation of the disturbance led to the discovery of a 53-year-old man suffering from a serious stab wound.
Police contacted BC Emergency Health Services who attended to the scene and transported the man to hospital for treatment.
At this time, police believe the incident to be a targeted attack with no risk to the general public.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing and police are seeking witnesses to the event. If you have any information related to the stabbing or may have video footage from dash cameras or surveillance cameras, police are asking that you contact them at the Campbell River RCMP detachment.
