Chilliwack Fire called to report a fully engulfed vehicle on Ranchero Drive. The fire was extinguished and police located incendiary items nearby. Officers were able to locate the owner who had last seen their vehicle on the street in front of their house the night before. The investigation continues to determine what happened.
Officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Elk View Road. It didn’t take long for them to notice the driver exhibiting signs of impairment. The driver failed roadside testing and was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition with his vehicle being towed.
A man reportedly assaulted another person at a facility on Trethewey Avenue. Shortly after, a second report was received of the same man attacking a separate victim with a weapon at a different location. The man had fled before police could arrive, but officers were able to locate him a short time later. Officers recognized the man right away as he is well known to police. During the arrest of the man, he assaulted an officer and continued to act irate. The man was held in custody for court.
Officers of the Community Response Team were approached by a female reporting her E-scooter had just been stolen. The officer was able to review CCTV and obtain a photo of the suspect. The man was located at a facility on Princess Avenue with the E-scooter nearby. The man was arrested and found in possession other suspected stolen items. The scooter was returned to the owner.
A report was received of a Break and Enter at a residence on Janis Street. After being away from the home for a short time, the homeowners returned and discovered signs of someone who had forced entry into their home. Personal items were taken by the suspects. The Forensic Identification Service is assisting in the investigation.
A female was loitering near a store on Vedder Road and asked to move along by security guards. The female allegedly assaulted the security guard before moving to an adjacent building. Police arrived and located the female who assaulted the officer while being arrested. The female was held for court.
Officers responded to a report of a female in possession of a firearm on Princess Avenue. Upon attendance, officers located the suspect and found her holding an imitation firearm. She identified herself but officers were able to determine she provided a false name. The female was arrested and later positively identified as someone who was well known to police.
An officer stopped an unregistered vehicle on Yale Road. It was confirmed that the driver did not possess a valid license. The driver was also exhibiting signs of impairment. A roadside test confirmed impairment and an Immediate roadside Prohibition was issued, with the vehicle being towed.
