April 20 – Single vehicle collision

Police received a report of a single‑vehicle collision on Camp River Road after a vehicle struck a hydro pole. The driver reportedly reached for something out of view and as a result lost control of the vehicle. Alcohol was determined to not be a factor and fortunately no injuries were reported. The driver was issued a violation ticket for driving without due care. The roadway was closed until the vehicle was removed and the hydro police was deemed safe.

April 20 – Break and Enter

Officers responded to a report of a break and enter to a restaurant on Yale Road that occurred earlier in the morning. A suspect allegedly stole several perishable food items and electronics before leaving the business. Through investigation, police identified and arrested a Chilliwack man well known to police. Several stolen items were recovered and returned to the restaurant. The man will appear in court at a later date.

April 22 – Weapons related disturbance

Police responded to calls regarding a man reportedly running along Williams Street, armed with a knife and acting irrationally while damaging property. Officers located the man at a nearby convenience store where he was behaving erratically and frightening customers. The man, well known to police, was found to be heavily intoxicated by drugs and was arrested without incident. The knife was seized and destroyed.

April 22 - Suspicious dumpster fires

Police were notified of three separate dumpster fires along Young Road near Airport Road, occurring within a two‑hour period. All fires were located in business parking lots and appear to have been intentionally set. Chilliwack Fire Department extinguished all fires, and no damage to buildings was reported. The investigation remains ongoing, and witnesses are asked to contact police.

April 23 – Impaired driving and assault on police

Police responded to a report of a vehicle located in a ditch near the intersection of Hope River Road and Kitchen Road. A man located nearby was determined to be the driver and displayed signs of impairment. While officers were conducting an impaired driving investigation, the man became uncooperative and assaulted an officer. He was arrested for assaulting a police officer and held in custody for court. The man received an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and his vehicle was impounded after being towed out of the ditch.

April 24 - Impaired driving and breach of conditions

While patrolling on Young Road near First Avenue, an officer observed a vehicle travelling approximately 15 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone before stopping in the middle of the roadway. The driver was found to be prohibited by a court order from operating a motor vehicle. He displayed signs of drug impairment and refused roadside testing. The man was issued a driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act, his vehicle was impounded, and he was arrested and held for court for failing to comply with his court‑ordered conditions.

April 25 - Arrest warrant and breach of conditions

An officer observed a man riding a bicycle along Vedder Road and recognized him as having an outstanding arrest warrant. The man resisted police when approached. Once safely taken into custody, he was found in possession of break‑in tools, contrary to his court‑ordered conditions. He was arrested and held for court on the arrest warrant as well as breaching his conditions.

April 26 - Impaired driving 

In the early morning hours, a driver was stopped by police on Vedder Road. The man displayed signs of impairment and refused to provide breath samples to police. He became combative with officers and was held in custody until he was sober. The man was served with an Immediate Roadside Prohibition, and his vehicle was impounded.
