Chilliwack RCMP investigate alleged assault resulting in serious injuries

Chilliwack RCMP are investigating an alleged assault that occurred at Portage Park on the evening of May 22, 2026.

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 11:41 p.m., the Chilliwack RCMP received a report of an incident at Portage Park on Portage Avenue. Upon arrival, police located two adults suffering from injuries following an alleged assault.

A large group of youths were reportedly in the area when the adult victims encountered the group and were subsequently injured. Both victims sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital for medical treatment.

Two youths and one adult have been arrested in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing. The adult victims and the individuals arrested are not known to each other.

On May 23, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a nearby residence as part of continued efforts to advance the investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about this incident, or who may have video footage in the area between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm on May 22nd, to contact the Chilliwack RCMP and reference file number 2026-21141.
