Coquitlam RCMP issue additional suspect photos in alleged assault with a weapon.

On January 12, 2026, around 11:45 a.m. Coquitlam RCMP responded to the 2800 block of Shaughnessy Street in Port Coquitlam for an alleged assault with a weapon. A preliminary photo of the suspect was released on January 21, 2026, but unfortunately to date the suspect remains unidentified.

“Our investigators are exhausting every possible avenue to identify the individual involved in this stranger assault which left the victim with significant injuries,” says Sergeant Adriana O’Malley, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer, “We recognize the suspect’s face is not visible but our hope is that someone may recognize the suspect based on their clothing and physical stature.”

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • dark hair

The suspect was wearing:

  • Blue and purple tie-dyed hoodie
  • Black zip up vest
  • Black pants
  • Black face mask
  • Black boots
  • Black gloves

Coquitlam RCMP General Investigation Section has conduct of this active and ongoing investigation.
