Coquitlam RCMP seeking witnesses and video footage following təmtəmíxʷtən/Belcarra Regional Park fire

Coquitlam RCMP is asking anyone who was in the area on August 5th between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and may have captured video footage, including dashcam, cellular phone, or residential surveillance footage, to contact police.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Coquitlam RCMP received a report of a fire in Belcarra Regional Park. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and police are seeking the public's assistance to determine the cause.

Coquitlam RCMP is particularly interested in obtaining video footage from areas in and around:

• Sugar Mountain Trail
• Crystal Creek Drive
• Fern Drive
• Magnolia Way
• Hemlock Drive
• Oak Court
• Black Bear Way
• Uplands Drive
• Deerview Lane

“Anmore and Belcarra are strong beautiful communities that take a great pride in maintaining their regional park,” says Constable Ashleigh Daniels, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer. “We are asking anyone who was in the area, witnessed anything suspicious, or may have video footage or information related to this investigation to contact police.”
