Human remains located during investigation of a burnt vehicle

E Divisions Serious Crime unit has now assumed conduct of the investigation of a burnt vehicle after human remains were located inside the car. Original release 2025-10-15

“All indications suggest that this is a homicide, and police look to the public to help further the investigation. We are looking to speak to anyone that may have knowledge of this incident, or that had seen a grey 2005 Mazda 6” said Supt Wijayakoon of the BC-RCMP

If you were in the area of 251 Road and Kiskatinaw River near Dawson Creek in the days leading up to and including Monday, October 13, 2025, and saw this vehicle, you are asked to call the police.
