Dawson Creek RCMP is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the early morning hours of October 14, 2026.
The incident occurred just after 4:00 a.m. on the 1600-block of 108 Avenue, when several shots were fired into a residence in the neighbourhood where five people were asleep inside.
Police believe that this was likely a case of mistaken identity and do not believe this house was the intended target.
“Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident. Dawson Creek RCMP is releasing a photo taken from nearby video surveillance that shows a vehicle police believe to be involved. Investigators are asking those in the area to check their video surveillance or dash cameras for any further sightings of this vehicle or those who may have been involved,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, BCRCMP Spokesperson for Northern B.C.
The vehicle is described as a red pickup truck with a large white or grey box in the bed of the vehicle.
If anyone witnessed the incident or has video surveillance or dash camera footage that captures the incident or suspect vehicle, they are asked to call the Dawson Creek RCMP non-emergency line at 250-784-3700.
This investigation remains ongoing.
