On March 27, 2026, Elk Valley RCMP frontline officers were advised of a dropped call to 911. Through the investigation it was confirmed that an Alberta man had been snowmobiling North of Elkford, BC and had struck a tree suffering a significant arm injury and that he was in immediate need of medical attention. Elkford Search and rescue was engaged and the man was located and transported by helicopter to East Kootenay Regional Hospital for treatment. 

On March 31, 2026, an Elk Valley RCMP frontline member was conducting proactive traffic patrols and located a driver going 169 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 3. The driver was stopped and an impaired investigation confirmed the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was given an immediate driving prohibition, as well as an excessive speed ticket, and numerous other violation tickets. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days as a result of the incident.
