On December 30, 2025, at just after 6:00pm, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of an unknown male, holding a handgun, who was attempting to gain access to a residence in the area of Peace River Road and 111th Avenue in Fort St John, BC.

Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers responded immediately and set up containment in the area.  Callouts to the suspect resulted in the suspect surrendering to police and being taken into custody without incident.

A single victim was physically assaulted on scene.  A loaded firearm was seized at the scene but had not been discharged.

Two additional people were arrested on scene in relation to the incident.

The suspect male remains in police custody for court and will likely face numerous charges in relation to firearms and assault.  The two additional individuals located at the scene are being held while the investigation continues into the matter.

“This incident was an isolated targeted incident where both the suspect and the victim are known to police,” said Sergeant Dwayne Croll, Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Operational Support. “Charges have not yet been approved so no names are being released at this time.”

The Fort St John RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information in this matter to contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100.  Should you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at www.northernbccrimestoppers.ca.
