File 2026-4122

On May 21, 2026, the Fort St. John RCMP’s specialized Drug Unit, known as the Street Enforcement Team (SET), executed a search warrant at a residence on the 9400 block of 105 Avenue as part of ongoing efforts to target illicit drug trafficking and suppress gang-related activity.

The warrant was executed safely at the residence, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals for possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

During the search, investigators seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine, 300 grams of fentanyl, as well as quantities of methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), and LSD. Police also located equipment consistent with the processing and repackaging of drugs for street-level distribution.

In addition, officers seized three loaded handguns and approximately $8,000 in Canadian currency.

“This enforcement action highlights SET’s continued focus on disrupting the trafficking of drugs and the presence of firearms in our community,” said Sergeant Ian Rissanen, Unit Commander of the Fort St. John RCMP Plain Clothes Units. “SET continues to have sustained suppression of drug trafficking throughout the city where we continue to rely on the vigilance of community members, and we encourage the public to report suspicious activity so we can take action against those contributing to drug-related harm in our city.”

All seven individuals were released pending further investigation.
