On June 10, 2026, the Fort St. John RCMP executed 3 search warrants in the city of Fort St. John related to an ongoing investigation into targeted violence conducted by those involved in organized crime. The investigation, led by officers from the Serious Crime Unit, had been ongoing since August 2025 and resulted in the arrests of two individuals and seizure of evidence. The Serious Crime Unit was assisted by officers from the Street Enforcement Team, North District RCMP and frontline officers. Police seized 4 firearms and at 1 location, more then 1.3 kilograms of illicit drugs.
Sgt. Ian RISSANEN, commander of the Plainclothes Unit, commented, “Persons involved in the trade of illicit drugs, illegally trafficked and possessed firearms, and other criminality that follows organized crime, have no place in our community. Our specialized enforcement teams will continue our campaign against crime groups to ensure public safety is upheld."
The two individuals arrested were released on conditions with a future court date, while the Crown reviews the matter and police continue the investigation.
