Drive-by shooting in Fort St John

The Fort St John RCMP is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of August 6^th.

On August 6^th, 2026, at approximately 1:37 am, Fort St John RCMP were called to a report of a drive-by shooting near the 9800 block of 108^th Ave in Fort St John, BC. 

Frontline RCMP members attended the scene and found bullet holes in a travel trailer, two adjacent residences and a vehicle; no occupants or bystanders were struck. Frontline RCMP members secured the scene and canvassed the neighbourhood for witnesses, surveillance and evidence. 

Currently there are no suspects or suspect-vehicle descriptors.

The Fort St John RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) has joined the investigation and the crime scene is being held pending the approval of a search warrant. Once approved, Fort St John RCMP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) members will process the scene for more evidence which may lead to the identification of suspects and/or a suspect vehicle.

“This is believed to be a targeted incident in which thankfully, nobody was injured. The Fort St John RCMP is actively investigating the matter and seeking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has surveillance or dash-camera footage of it. In light of the recent spike in firearm related offences in the City, Fort St John RCMP frontline members, the Street Enforcement Team (SET), and SCU, are focusing resources to target this unsettling activity,” said Constable Christiaan Dreyer, Media Relations Officer with the Fort St John RCMP.
