RCMP in Fort St John are investigating some violent threats made towards one of the students at a local high school.
Police officers began their investigation late in the evening on Sunday, October 4, 2026, when they were advised of them by the victim. Investigators have determined that both parties are known to one another and have spoken with those involved.
“A thorough investigation has been conducted, and we continue to work collaboratively with the school and the school district to help alleviate concerns among students and families following the reported threats. This matter is being taken very seriously,” states Inspector Jaime Moffat, Officer in Charge of Fort St John RCMP.
Fort St John RCMP officers remained at the school throughout the day to provide support to staff and students as they attended school.
Investigators continue to encourage parents, care givers and students to report any threats directly to police. Prompt reporting assists investigators in assessing risks more efficiently, supports public safety efforts, and helps ensure an appropriate and timely response.
