The Fort St John RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect to a recent home invasion which occurred on October 27, 2026.

On October 27, 2026, around 11:00pm the Fort St John RCMP received a report of a home invasion which occurred on the 8900 – block of 87 Street in Fort St John, BC (initial media release below).

Through investigation a suspect has been identified.

The suspect is described as:

• Caucasian male,
• In his mid-thirties,
• Tall,
• Heavier set,
• Has facial hair,
• Wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a hat at the time of the offense.

The Fort St John RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this potential suspect to contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100.

RCMP investigating home invasion, suspect remains at large

Police officers in Fort St John are currently looking to identify and locate the suspect in a violent home invasion that occurred on October 27, 2026.

The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. when an unknown man entered a residence on the 8900-block of 87 Street in Fort St John, B.C., after following one of the female residents to her home. He was initially scared out of the residence by those at the house, and police were called and a neighbourhood search ensued. 

The man was not located by police during this time and re-entered the home, where he sexually assaulted a second resident, before being scared off again. Police were again called to the home and have been working diligently to identify the suspect. The Fort St John General Investigative Section has taken conduct of the investigation.

“Local police find this behaviour very concerning and believe he may attempt to reoffend. They are asking that anyone in the area who witnessed the man in the neighbourhood, or who may have captured his movements on their video surveillance or dash cameras please contact the Fort St John non-emergency line at 250-787-8140 to speak with a police officer,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, BC RCMP Spokesperson for Northern B.C.

The suspect is described as:

• In his mid-thirties
• Tall
• Heavier set
• Has a beard
• Wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a hat at the time of the offense

If anyone has information on who this suspect is or where he may be now, we urge you to contact your local police. 

This investigation remains ongoing.
