Kamloops RCMP are seeking leads in relation to a suspicious fire that caused damage to Westmount Elementary School.
On October 26th, 2025, in the early morning hours, Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers were called to 745 Walkem Rd. (Westmount Elementary School) in relation to a fire. Kamloops Fire Rescue also attended, extinguishing the flames.
"It appears that there was someone on the roof of the school when the fire broke out," said Staff Sergeant Chris Kienzle, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. "The fire is believed to be intentionally set, and our investigation is ongoing."
