The Kamloops RCMP Detachment Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has arrested a 34-year-old suspect for failing to comply with a release order in relation to retail theft.

On March 6, 2026, CRU officers located and arrested 34-year-old Robert Kohlman after CRU and frontline police collaborated with local retailers to gather evidence in a coordinated enforcement effort.

“Shoplifting creates a disproportionate amount of harm in our community, impacting employees, businesses and a sense of safety,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, Officer in charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “Our Crime Reduction Unit continues to focus on the most active suspects through intelligence-led enforcement and strong partnerships with our business and retail community.”

This file remains under investigation and Kohlman who was held in custody has since been released with a future court date.

Anyone with information related to property crime is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000, the Tk’emlúps Rural Detachment at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
