The morning commute along Victoria Street West was briefly interrupted this morning due to a distraught woman walking in the street.
On April 14, 2026, just before 8:00 a.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline police responded to a report of an allegedly distraught woman in traffic trying to stop vehicles in 400-block of Victoria Street West.
“A driver pulled over to call the police,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “Once the driver was pulled over, she was able to get more information from the woman who appeared to require police assistance.”
Police spoke with the woman and learned that she was allegedly a victim of an assault.
