Early morning break and enter into a storage compound in Savona results in road closure to Pacific Way south of Hugh Allen Drive and a damaged police vehicle.
At approximately 4:16 a.m. on April 20, 2026, Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP frontline police responded to a report of a break and enter into a storage compound in Savona where a travel trailer was hooked up and towed away. A little later police located the truck and stolen trailer in Kamloops and initiated a traffic stop.
“The driver of the truck and trailer allegedly rammed a police vehicle in an attempt to flee,” said Corporal Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. “While the police vehicle was damaged, the officer was not injured.” “The truck then crashed into a fence causing damage, and as a result Pacific Way will be closed for approximately another hour this morning.”
Anyone with dash camera footage or who may know anything about this incident is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000, the Tk’emlúps Rural Detachment RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and cite file 2026-11746.
