Kamloops RCMP Detachment is asking for assistance from the public in relation to a suspicious fire that burned a school portable.

On Wednesday April 22, 2026, near 2:00 a.m. Kamloops frontline police responded to a request to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue with a structure fire that was fully engulfed in flames in the 200-block of Arrowstone Drive.  A school portable was destroyed as a result of the fire. However, KFR was able to contain the fire and no other structures were affected.

“Our General Investigation Support Team is investigating along with KFR investigators to determine the cause and origin of the fire,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.  “As we actively investigate, we will continue to work closely with School District 73 and KFR to learn more about this incident.”

We are asking those in the area to check their video surveillance and for anyone who may have been in the area leading up to 2:00 a.m. to please reach out to the Kamloops RCMP Detachment with any information or footage they may have by calling 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
