The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is seeking public assistance to locate a suspect in a late-night break and enter and ATM theft.

Just after 3:30 a.m. on June 26, 2026, frontline officers from the Kamloops RCMP Detachment were called to a break and enter at a pub in the 3300-block of Westsyde Road. Two suspects were seen entering the pub and stealing an ATM. The suspects fled in what was later determined to be a stolen truck.

The stolen truck and ATM have since been recovered however the cash had been removed prior to being located.

“An RCMP police dog handler located two males matching the suspects on Westsyde Road and tracked them to the north Thompson River, where both entered,” states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP. “One male was arrested shortly after however a second suspect swam across the river and remains outstanding.”

The suspect male is described as Caucasian, balding, with a beard and full sleeve tattoos on his right arm/shoulder. He was last seen wearing a pair of blue jeans.

“Police officers flooded the ground and the river, with assistance Kamloops Fire and Rescue however the suspect was not located, despite significant searching.”

“We are releasing a photo of the suspect seen in the river and asking anyone who lives in the area east of the north Thompson River to keep their eyes out for the suspect, who will undoubtedly still be wet and cold. If you see him immediately call police.”
