Traffic stopped in both directions on East Trans Canada Highway

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is advising the public to please avoid the East Trans Canada Highway due to a semi-truck blocking both directions at Vicars Road.
On July 9, 2026, just before 9:30 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report of a semi truck blocking lanes in both direction on the East Trans Canada Highway at Vicars Road.
“Kamloops RCMP frontline officers are working with CPKC Police, BC Highway Patrol and CVSE to try to re-route traffic and move the truck,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “At this time it is unknown how long the semi truck will be stuck and blocking traffic.”
An update will be provided once the semi truck is cleared. The Kamloops RCMP Detachment would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we work with community partners to resume regular traffic patterns.
