Police respond to report of structure fire

Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline police responded to a report of a structure fire on the North Shore and were asked to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue.

On Monday July 13, 2026, at approximately 8:50 a.m. police received a report to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue with a structure fire in the alley behind Alexander Avenue near the 400-block and King Street.

“The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time; however, a fire investor has been on scene as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.”  “It was learned that the shed which has now been extinguished by Kamloops Fire Rescue was used to store fuel.”

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or who may have any video footage specifically in the ally of the 400 block of Alexander Avenue around the time the fire broke out is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and cite file 2026-22673.
