The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is investigating a dumpster fire which occurred on the North Shore.
On August 19, 2026, at approximately 12:46 a.m., police received a report of a dumpster fire near Wilson Street and Tranquille Road. Police attended, attempted to put out the fire then conducted patrols of the area. Kamloops Fire Rescue arrived and promptly extinguished the fire.
“In order to advance the investigation, we are releasing images captured by security cameras to public in the hopes of locating and identifying the alleged suspect,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “According to the images, the suspect appears to arrive on a bicycle wearing a backpack and a hat.”
