Kamloops frontline police were tracking two suspects in a vehicle that was reported stolen and spotted in the Barnhartvale area after a break and enter that occurred on the North Shore.

On October 6, 2026, just after 3:30 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment was notified of a break and enter which occurred in the 800-block of Desmond Street. A maroon coloured, Ford F-350 rammed through the front door of a business, and two suspects attempted to tie a tow rope around the ATM, however, they were unsuccessful.

“As part of the investigation, Tk’emlúps Rural frontline police spotted the suspect vehicle travelling east on East Trans Canada Highway, and headed towards Barnhartvale” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops and Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment.  “PDS and a drone operator assisted frontline police with attempting to re-acquire the vehicle and the suspects.”

Although the vehicle and the suspects have yet to be located, one person has been arrested that entered into the business after the vehicle left and did not appear to be associated with the break-in.

Anyone that may have any dash camera footage along the highway or around Barnhartvale that may have captured images of the maroon Ford F-350 with rear end damage or who has seen the truck is asked to please call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) to remain anonymous and cite file 2026-33599.
