On April 15, 2026, Kelowna RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) executed back-to-back search warrants at three Kelowna residences as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and illegal firearms.
To ensure public and police safety, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team assisted with the execution of the search warrants at the following locations:
- 200-block McIntosh Road
- 500-block Mugford Road
- a residential unit within the complex located at 8900 Jim Bailey Road
The following items and suspected illicit drugs were seized through the search warrants:
- one loaded handgun
- approximately 2.2 kilograms of suspected fentanyl
- approximately 7 kilograms of suspected cocaine
- approximately 1.1 kilograms of suspected psilocybin mushrooms
- $40,000 in Canadian currency
- approximately 13 kilograms of cutting agents
“These residences were linked to fueling the supply of toxic drugs which pose a direct threat to the safety, security and wellness of our community,” says Sergeant Scott Powrie of the Kelowna RCMP Crime Reduction Unit. “The seizures are part of Kelowna RCMP’s continued efforts to target individuals and groups responsible for the distribution of toxic illicit drugs and the possession of illegal firearms within the community.”
Two adult males were arrested as part of the investigation. One of the males was also arrested and held on outstanding warrants. A report has been submitted to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) for charge assessment.
