Kelowna RCMP seeks public’s help to locate stolen totem pole, reunite property with its owners

Kelowna RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen totem pole and identifying the owners of several property items currently being held at the Kelowna Detachment.

Totem pole stolen from local resident

On May 19, 2026, Kelowna RCMP received a report of a stolen four-foot-tall totem pole taken from the backyard of a Kelowna residence. The totem pole is described as a painted bird in green, yellow, black, and red, with its wings spread.

Anyone with information regarding the theft or current location of the stolen totem pole is asked to contact police and reference police file 2026-30121.

Ring turned in to police

On February 13, 2026, a ring featuring a large center stone was turned in to the Rutland Community Policing Office. To help ensure the item is returned to its rightful owner, police are not releasing a photo of the ring at this time. Anyone who believes the ring may belong to them is asked to contact police and be prepared to provide a detailed description.

Stolen Property Recovered

Through recent investigations, the Kelowna RCMP Target Team has recovered several stolen items believed to belong to local residents. The recovered property includes machinery, power tools, and two sets of golf clubs. The file number for the related police investigation is 2026-26081.

“Police are working to return these belongings to their rightful owners”, says Corporal Steven Lang, Kelowna RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Anyone who believes they may be the owner of any of the property, and can provide proof of ownership, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250‑762‑3300, quoting the appropriate file number.”
