Police investigate stabbing, seek suspect

Kelowna RCMP General Investigations Section has taken conduct of an investigation into a stabbing that occurred late Thursday night.

On September 3, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., police were notified of a stabbing that occurred roadside near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Summit Drive.

The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police Dog Services attended the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Police believe the suspect to have initially fled on a scooter, which may have later been abandoned and subsequently seized by police as part of the investigation.

Due to the victim's condition at the time, investigators were initially unable to obtain detailed information regarding the circumstances of the incident. As a result, the risk to the public remains unknown.

"Investigators have since processed and released the outdoor scene," said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP. "A canvass for CCTV footage from nearby residences and businesses is underway as investigators work to identify and locate the suspect."
