The RCMP continues to enforce the BC Supreme Court’s order granted to Tsawak-qin Forestry Limited Partnership and Tsawak-qin Forestry Inc.

On December 11, while patrolling the injunction area around the Walbran Forest Service Road, police located some individuals perched on top of tree structures that blocked the roadway. Two individuals were arrested for allegedly breaching the court-ordered injunction. One was released at scene on conditions, and the other will be held in custody for breaching their release conditions stemming from their previous arrest on November 25.

The police will remain in the area in the coming days, patrolling the Walbran Forest Service Road to ensure unimpeded access.

Since enforcement began on November 25, the RCMP have made 13 arrests, two of whom were previously arrested. The total arrests were for the following allegations: 9 for breaching the injunction, 1 for criminal mischief, 1 for criminal obstruction of police for resisting arrest and 2 for breaching their release conditions.

All news releases issued on this police enforcement are posted on the Lake Cowichan RCMP Detachment website.
