Langley RCMP investigating fatal hit-and-run on Fraser Highway

On May 16, 2026, at approximately 4:40 a.m. Langley RCMP responded to a person in distress on Fraser Highway between 232 Street and 240 Street, Langley.
Officers arrived in the area and located a pedestrian who had suffered injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Both the driver and the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene. “First responders immediately began life-saving efforts, tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has deployed to the area to assist Langley RCMP with this investigation.”
Road closures are in effect in the immediate area and are expected to remain in place for several hours while investigators continue their work. Motorists and other road users are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
