IHIT called to Langley to investigate homicide

On October 5, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired in the 6000 block of 200 Street, Langley.
First responders promptly arrived in the area and located one individual in medical distress. “Despite life saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.”
At approximately 10:03 p.m., Langley RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire near 232 Street and 75 Avenue in Langley. Investigators are working to determine any links to the shooting.
Officers will remain in the area canvassing for video surveillance and speaking with any potential witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, and any further information will be provided by Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
