Charges laid in assault on taxi driver

Maple Ridge RCMP advises that charges have now been laid against the suspect involved in an unprovoked assault on a taxi driver that occurred in Maple Ridge back on September 17, 2025 (Public assistance needed to identify assault suspect). 

Link Gaetz, 57 years old, from Mission, has now been charged with: Assault, Section 266 of the Criminal Code, and Mischief Under $5,000, Section 430 (4) of the Criminal Code. 

Maple Ridge RCMP appreciates the public’s assistance in helping identify the alleged suspect.

Gaetz now has an outstanding arrest warrant for these charges and police are asking for the public’s further assistance in locating him. 

He is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 57 years old
  • 6’4” (193 cm)
  • 252 lbs (114 kg)
  • Blond hair
  • Blue eyes
