Masset RCMP have seized a significant quantity of drugs and cash from local residences after multiple search warrants were executed at the beginning of October.
The investigation began in May of 2026, with investigators determining that suspected drug trafficking activity was being run out of homes on the 1500-block of Burgess Avenue in Masset and the 100-block of Raven Avenue in Old Masset, B.C.
On October 3, 2026, Masset RCMP officers, with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team, executed search warrants on the residences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
In one of the homes, investigators seized drug trafficking paraphernalia. From another of the homes, investigators seized approximately $11,000 in Canadian Currency and more than 200 grams of suspected cocaine. A vehicle believed to be associated was also seized by police. One man was arrested during the investigation; he has since been released into the community, pending the results of the National Laboratory and future charge approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
“We are incredibly proud of the hard work that our officers put into advancing this sensitive investigation. We will continue to work with our community to ensure they receive the support necessary following the investigation,” states Sergeant Jeff Lance, Detachment Commander for Masset RCMP.
